Inner Ear Hearing
“Now The Lord had told Samuel in his ear the day before Saul came, saying…”
What’s most intriguing about this to me is that this wasn’t an audible from God but an inaudible.
Most hearing from God is an inner ear experience.

Make it Happen!
We’ve all heard the phrase:
“I don’t care, what you have to do just…MAKE IT HAPPEN!”
Sometimes this is said out of a great intention and heart to do something great and helpful.
It could also be nothing more than the display of an immature disposition that says,
“I want it now and I don’t care how you get it for me, just…
MAKE IT HAPPEN!”
It reminds me of the little girl in the movie “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” who constantly watered down her father with relentless demands of,
“I want it, I want it, I want it NOW!”
The phrase in I Sam 8:22 sums it up,
Heed their voice…MAKE THEM A KING…
Interesting phrase, “make them a king”.
He didn’t say “give” them a king”.
We don’t GET idols, we MAKE them.

That’s how many times “He will take”.
A king that is…
Nevertheless Israel wanted a king!
They were done being “just a little different”.
They wanted to be “just like” the other nations around them.
You know…
a King they could see.
a King who would fight their battles.
God and Samuel gave them what they wanted, but let them know.
He will Take
(this phrase is mentioned 6X in 6 verses)
and you will cry

WHO DOES GOD LISTEN TO?
I’m intrigued by who God listens to.
Now I know that God listens to everybody 💝
(what a romantic thought)
I guess He does and can listen to everybody 💒
(a religious thought)….
But Who does He listen to?
Guys like Samuel.
Then Samuel cried out to The Lord for Israel
and The Lord answered him…
1 Samuel 7:9b
A clue to getting answers from The Lord:
Could it be tied to the fact that it is recorded that God let none of Samuel’s words fall to the ground? (1 Samuel 3:19)
May our words fly not die!

Cows?!
Even cows cannot resist the “Urge to Merge”
Even cows cannot resist the ”Urge to Merge” with the Will and the Ways of God!
The Philistines had enough of the Ark of God, so they decided to send it back with a trespass offering.
The plan:
send it back on its own with no destination address other than the irresistible magnetic drawing power of the will of God…
It worked.
The cows (with calves at home) simply could not resist the supernatural pull of the purpose of God to get the Ark back to where it was supposed to be..
We serve a magnetic and loving God!

Every Dagon knee shall bow…
Every “Dagon Knee Shall Bow”
When it comes to God’s reputation, He takes it very seriously!
The story of the kidnapped Ark and the face plant of Dagon is very amusing and in our politically correct culture, totally offensive!
Who does God think He is to grind and pound Dagon to the ground?
Hey, don’t blame it on the people of God. They didn’t do it, God did.
In the end, God will defend His reputation and is totally able to take care of Himself!
